![]() ![]() To get an idea of what Day of Infamy looks like, here's a video from YouTube personality DiplexHeated, showing off the game's visuals and mechanics. It is currently available on Steam Workshop, but anyone looking to get it will have to opt into the beta branch first. It should be noted that Day of Infamy is in its early stages, so expect to see a few bugs and unfinished assets. While the mod is playable in its current state, it appears to be in its infancy, with NWI hoping the community will bring life to it with new maps, factions, and other elements. The mod is open-sourced, which will allow the community to contribute to it as they see fit. Inspired by the classic Day of Defeat, the developer has unveiled Day of Infamy.ĭay of Infamy takes users back to World War II and is meant to take players back to the age of close-quarters infantry combat. But over the weekend, developer New World Interactive offered perhaps one of the game's most enticing mods to date. The game has been out since 2013 and has had Steam Workshop support for a while. As I said on other post, I wish someday NWI would do to insurgency AI what they did to bots on DoI.Insurgency has been something of a cult hit among shooter fans, mostly laying low with a small, but quite devoted community. Bots on that game often take cover, snipers shoot from afar and MGs are quite deadly. If you want a more interesting solo mode I'd recommend trying out Day of Infamy by NWI, which is a completely different game (ww2 shooter) and mechanics but solo is quite enjoyable if that's what you're after. If youre interested in joining, download the mod at the Insurgency workshop and join us on. Development on Day of Infamy began in 2016 as a mod for Insurgency, and was further developed as a standalone game. I believe the ones that follow you are the "squad" you're on(notice that on MP there are two squads and on solo coop there is only one), I had best results trying to keep that in mind and try avoid commanding my squad through open areas (It would be awesome if bots could at least follow commands like hold ground) Tonight were playing the Day of Infamy mod for Insurgency. After the major success of Insurgency, NWI started development on Day of Infamy, another tactical shooter similar to Insurgency, but set in World War II and featuring new gameplay mechanics absent from Insurgency. I noticed that usually on this game a handful of bots will follow the player and others will free roam. Which bot difficulty are you playing with? Yesterday I switched to ins_bot_difficulty 2 on solo and noticed a good boost on difficulty but also on teammates effectivity. Is there any way to make them act like regular INS bots all the time, or at least improve their aim? What's even weirder is that on rare occasions, sometimes the extra bots that don't follow me will actually start moving on their own and acting like regular INS bots, while the ones already following me still act dumb. They can't seem to throw grenades and they don't seem to follow any commands, so generally they're about as useful as dirt.Īdding more bots doesn't seem to increase their overall effectiveness in any meaningful way, and after a certain threshold newly added bots stop following me and just stand there aimlessly in spawn. We've just released updates for both Insurgency AND the official WWII mod Day of Infamy Includes new map Dry Canal, new spectator options, various fixes. Their AI seems to consist of them just mindlessly following you until they spot an enemy, upon which they stand completely still and fire at the enemy without even trying to aim down sights. I've noticed that the AI teammates that you get are glaringly stupid. Insurgency, the excellent sim-style shooter that started out as a Source mod, is enjoying. My game likes to lag out at times and recently my internet's been crap and I've been having some trouble connecting to Insurgency games, so I've been playing Solo Co-op. 18, 2016 Insurgency is bringing its brand of war simulation/shooting back in time.
